I'm not one who thinks MF is a solution to real AF problems, and I could be wrong on this, but it seems like with the green dot there is a bit of leeway, and if you experiment with a given lens, you can sometimes develop a feel for the timing that will yield a little more accuracy than you would get with even good AF.
