Sleep and external thunderbolt drive

I have two Lacie external drives connected to my i Mac, one is connected via firewall and the other is a thunderbolt drive.

When I send the iMac to sleep manually, both drives shut down.

When I walk away and let the iMac go to sleep by itself, only the Firewire connected drive shuts down, the thunderbolt one keeps spinning and the blue indicator light stays on. I want them both to shut down.

I've had a poke around in the system preferences and can't find anything to change this behavior (good chance I'm looking in the wrong place though!)

Any suggestions anyone?
