Well done for countering this hoary old factoid Gerry. Similarly on serious websites you still read statements to the effect that standard lenses are so because one eye's view through the finder is similar in scale to what you see with the other eye if you keep it open - forgetting that the view through different cameras will vary drastically according to viewfinder magnification.
