Several of you have forgotten the whole reason I started this thread way back at Christmas time. It was not to try out a camera, it was to own one knowing full well that this troublesome D800 camera could be checked out to the fullest to see if it was a keeper.

It has been pointed out by many people now that the 200-shot limit for a return doesn't apply if there is a fault - it only applies if you have changed your mind and are sending back a fully functioning item.  If your D800 unit was 'troublesome' - i.e. not working properly - then it's a warranty repair / replacement whether it occurs after 200 clicks or 20000, as long as the fault becomes apparent within the warranty period which is usually (at least) a year.

How many times does this have to be explained to you before it sinks in?  You are making a fuss about nothing.
