How long is my piece of rope?? I like both wides and teles - depends on the purpose. If I had to live with only one FL it would be a 35mm (FF equiv). They take in modest wide scenes and groups, etc, yet can still take a fairy reasonable context portrait as long as they're not too close. It's no accident that a great many fixed-prime-lens cameras had either a 35mm or a 38mm lens.

Cheers, Rod

I'm not sure if you know this but each of our eyes have about a 50mm view in FF or 35 mm in APS-C.  I'd agree with you on the, "If I could have one focal legnth."
