I got one last year. Though I can't say for sure, I don't believe it has back focusing issues. I do get out of focus shots more often than desired but most of the time the sensor just grabs something behind the subject (which is a different focusing issue with D7000). Though I don't have a frame of reference, I'd say that overall the camera works pretty well.

I lug my photo equipment everywhere. Is it heavy? Sure. Is it uncomfortable and cumbersome? Absolutely. Is it often an inconvenience? You bet. But is it all worth it? Maybe.
