B&H selling returned products: Question for Mr. Henry Posner

I think that every halfway decent store will not try to sell this as a new camera. Cameras are usually not handled by 100 potential buyers. I am talking about a retail store, not a place like Best Buy and such.

At a certain point a sales manager will discount that camera to get rid of it or will try to return the remaining inventory of that model because it apparently does not sell.

I still like the concept of the Fry's chain of stores:

If you return an item then Fry's will mark it as "Open Box" and will sell it at a discount.

Cameras have a restocking fee of 10% and will be sold discounted too.

I think that this is fair to the customer and the store does not have to suffer a loss since the restocking fees will cover the "Open Box" discounts in general.
