How sharp does a D800 need to be?

Reading recent posts on this forum some people seem to be getting that the idea that the D800 has systemic focussing problems. I have found no such thing on mine and find it to be the ideal bird camera.

The image below is a 100% crop from the middle 1/16th of the frame.

The bird (a goldcrest) is 3" long and the crop shown is of the top 1" of its body. It's eye is about 1/10" diameter. It is a rapidly moving twitchy bird.

And yet the reflection of the hide this image was shot from is clearly visible in it's eye!
