Using the AF-C and AF ON method is no solution for D800.

Nikon seems to have strange problems at least with the advanced MultiCam3500 and they title their design errors as user errors. There seem to be more focus problems now with Nikon as they happened with Canon cameras years ago (EOS 10d and so...).

No it doesnt have any problems its AF system just works differently..

and if your targets are dead on or not has nothing to do with the mode but pure luck.....

Read my support ticket with Nikon from above...

What the camera focusses on is the selection that the camera does by itself....
