your shot was at 1/60 & your friends at 1/160. Possible motion blur from that & misfocus.
Iirc the Sigma 28/1.8 doesn't have a great reputation either.
Obviously your friend's equipment is a lot, lot more expensive & newer so you would expect it to be better & it is but either your technique or equipment is defective.
