Helicon or Promote Systems control for X-E1?

I am looking to automate some focus stacking with my new X-E1. Helicon and Promote currently have only dug into Canon and Nikon's firmware and have sucessessfully operated their focus control and shutter trip with their automation software.
Does anyone have a thread of evidence that the X-E1 could have this firmware accessability via the USB connection as does the D-600 & 800's or the Mk II & III?
The shutter trip does connect in the X-E1 via a stereo micro jack but I am not sure that it can also be tripped through the USB using Fuji's RR-80 remote? The Focus Stepping Control is another more complicated question though.
Promote and Helicon's hardware engineers are clueless thus far about Fuji's X Series systems, so when asked neither had any idea how to answer, other than quoting the thread:

which doesn't really address the same subject.
I will welcome any leads!
