which month is better to shoot landscape in new Zealand

I normally stayed in the Northern Island (near Upper Hutt) during Dec., Jan., Feb.and March. These last years the temp in December was so much lower than say 20 years ago, that bathing and swimming in the Hutt river was not agreeable...Landscapes however stay glorious.

As leaves are normally beïng shed from bush and tree all seasons through in the Northern Island, the word 'fall', meaning autumn, is seldom used here...
