I don't own the V1 or N5 flash but tested them thoroughly when I was evaluating which mirrorless camera to get.

The N5 has some real pluses, it is the most compact flash which tilts and swivels, it's fantastic for indoor night shots, bouncing off the ceiling, and nikon's i-TTL & metering is years ahead of the competition, beautiful night time exposures with fill light.

The cons, is that it's rather weak, especially outdoors in sunlight, way too expensive ( $140 last time I checked) , can't be used as off camera wireless flash since it uses no batteries, does not have CLS wireless commander option, did I mention Nikon is asking $140 for it?

So if you shoot a lot of indoor parties is a must have
