In my experience the a99 seems to be better. The colors seem more true. I know you didn't ask but it's worth the upgrade just for the dynamic range alone. The a99 also flares less and I have always though that a lens issue but it's a fact. Plus the dust removal system is as good as Olympus cameras. I almost never have dust specks. No doubt to me the a99 blows the a900 out of the water.


I think you are exaggerating the a99 iq compared to the a900. Especially DR wise. Its 0,5 stop according to IR.

The colors are clearly better an more saturated on the a900 and there for also looks noisier.

And if we take reds the a900 surprisingly has less noise than a99.

The a99 are hardly blowing the a900 out of the water iq wise.
