Sony NEX 6 HD Video Test & RAW Stills With a Nikon D800E Shot Simultaneously

So I was looking for some NEX-6 reviews on Youtube and found this. I enjoyed watching this video which demonstrates the smooth slow motion you get when you change the frame rate from 1080p 60p. Very educational:

That's the first one I saw a few days ago but now there is a load more. All I can say is *smokin*

One thing I notice though is that a few times during the shoot the focus shifted more to the background and back. You can check between 2:00 and 2:07. I think the OP would benefit from enabling face detection for this if it's not on.

I have found my NEX-6 doing this the other day when I pointed it at my daughter sitting in a chair watching TV and left it there for a bit. When I watched it back the focus shifted multiple times from face to background because it was low light and the profile of my kid's face where the camera wasn't doing so well with face recognition.

That's where I think the touch-to-focus would really come useful (i still hate Sony for not putting that on the NEX-6). I can do object tracking too but it doesn't work well when you need to zoom. All and all for this specific shoot the face detect should have worked.

Here are some more links if you like the first ones.

P.S I am not affiliated with these folks in any way and do not own the videos There are more if you care. It gets a bit repetitive but not in an unpleasant way
