Comparing focus test methods

Hello,

With all the talk about which focus test method to use, I thought I'd try the two methods talked about, and see what results I get, and see if both methods give the same result.

First, the 45 degree chart method.

Test setup using 45 degree chart

50mm f/1.8 lens, front focusing.

18-55 kit lens.  Back focusing.

Test setup #2, using perpendicular target, with a ruler at a 45 degree angle.

50mm f/1.8 still front focusing.

18-55 kit lens, still back focusing.

So at least with close focus distances, with my camera and lenses, I'm not getting a significant difference.  I would need larger targets to test at greater distances.
