I just list mine on my homeowner's insurance policy and have fun... It's just stuff... Back up the shots to a portable hard drive or keep the full cards some where safe. Don't let the worry of losing stuff ruin your trip.

and if you can afford it, I bet you'd enjoy the OMD. I am REALLY liking the GH3, and the OMD would give you a similar experience. But take a little time to get to know the new camera before you leave...

Because it is way overkill for a vacation.

An E-pl1 17mm f/2.8, 40-150mm and a fast legacy 40 or 50mm is all you need to shoot just about anything.

A 9-18mm would be a good addition as it takes up little space.

If I was going to take anything else, the next thing would be a clamp or a tripod.

I have to admit I'm starting to lean towards this mentality, although you need to understand alot of people don't like it.

A lot of people (maybe the OP-two camera bodies, really?) also think that they are on assignemnt for National Geographic.

Problem is.....they arn't.

Although I'd take the new 17mm f1.8, the stop over 2.8 would be worth it IMO,

Agreed, excpet a pancake is a nice thing to have when traveling.

Makes a small camera like an E-plx or one of the GF series about the size of a point n shoot.

True, although I'd still consider it too big to put in a pocket. If I'm carrying a m4/3 camera it's around my neck or in a bag.
