I could care less about AF speed(although the zoom was fine in the store), I don't have a single AF lens for my NEX-7, I do have 100 manual focus lenses to choose from, and if I do require AF, I can grab my Canon AF gear and have better AF than every mirrorless made.

All I really need for 90% of my shots is Aperture or Shutter priority mode with an EC dial.

So like I said, The only thing I'd miss is an EVF and focus peaking.

You said, "on the plus side is the ability no mount and drive all EF/EF-S lenses, although at a dismal focusing speed." I disagree.

"EF and EF-S lenses can be mounted on EF-M bodies via an optional adapter." This adapter might be made by Canon but it will need a glass diopter. There are only 2 native EF-M lenses in existence for the EF-M body.)

EF and EFS lenses cannot be used on the NEX. Unless you use a likewise glassed adapter, a decent example not being  available. And probably not worth the trouble.
