Still, the D800 achieves focus lock on

under dark conditions where the 5DMkIII cannot.
I just tested the two cameras under very challenging conditions and no matter what setting I used on the 5DMkIII it just wouldn't lock on.
Even the outer corner sensors of the D800 beat the centre point of the Canon.
Am I surprised? Very.
Does it make the Canon a lesser camera? Absolutely not.
