@MP1:

>>"You're very welcome to your opinion as to what it 'sounds like' I did. It's wrong, but feel free to be creative with my thought processes if you like.">>

I'm not being "creative" with anything. I'm just referring to what you wrote in your OP (screed) against the X-Pro 1 in favor of one of the more DSLR-like, all rounder 4/3'rds GH3. So if I'm wrong in my assumption that you did kind of expected that the X-Pro 1 would, or should operate pretty much like these other diminutive 2x cropped cams do, or what perhaps one of you previous DSLR did, then I do apologize. But the somewhat (IMO) unreasonable DSLR-like expectation that the X-Pro 1 was ever supposed to behave pretty much the same as the GH3, or OMD, or any of the other 15mm platform digital cameras is somewhat missing the mark on actually what it (the X-Pro 1) was designed to be in the first place: as primarily a direct competitor/replacement to hugely overpriced Leica's X and M series line - but with a much more modern hybrid approach by incorporating AF, live view..etc. The GH3 has fantastic video and slightly (again, IMO) better AF, but is'nt even on the same playing field as the X-Pro1/XE-1, when it comes to overall IQ, ISO performance, and the ability to use lenses on a more (DOF) 35mm film level.

As I said above, all of these different types of digital camera platforms (35mm, 24mm, 15mm (4/3'rds)..etc), have their strength & weaknesses. But for many of us here, on the APS-C 24mm platform, the Fuji's are about as good as it get IQ-wise- thus far.

>>"My dealer was very happy to take it in PX. Ebay does not exist in NZ and not many members of this site live in NZ.">>

Of course EBay "exists" in NZ. It's a global website - accessible to anyone in the world - barring a given country directly blocking access to it's websites - just like DPReview doesn't technically "exist" in NZ - since it is based in England and is a dot.com domain - instead of a .NZ, but is still accessible to you regardless. You can easily able to buy and sell (not directly, of course) on eBay via it's sites in AU, or England, or just the basic global .com site. You also have access to your own indigenous ebay-like site called: www.trademe.co.nz. I've bought and sold all kinds of photography equipment all over the world - including NZ, without any real hindrances in the transactions base solely on my geographical location .
