Questions about Rokinon manual lenses.

Since purchasing a Rokinon fisheye lens, I have developed an interest in this line of manual lenses.
The fisheye lens is difficult to manually focus; due to having such a wide field of view. It is therefore advised that you set the lens to a predetermined setting manually; knowing that most images will actually come out quite sharp. This works quite well.
But what about the non-fisheye lenses, like the 14mm or the 85mm? Will one need to manually adjust the focusing on these lenses with absolutely no confirmation from the camera body(in my case T2i)? I understand that the AF will not function. But will the focus assist "beep" or "white dot" function at all? If not, does this mean that one is totally at the mercy of the human eye to try and nail the focus? Short of installing the old 35mm split screen, isn't this difficult to master?
