Panasonic HDC-SD20 better alternative?

Hello DPreview, this might sound funny but..

I'm about to buy the new camcorder to film sunday league football games, like in here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7q075DxJ2R8 (recorded with Panasonic HDC-sd20).. I like the quality of the camera, but i was wondering if there are any new camcorders in same price class, which are better than the current one, because this camera is already 4 years old (?).

If you have any suggestions to get the best results in football filming, then let me know. Because I actually don't know anything about the filming and cameras.
