What kind of "indoor" and what kind of shooting? If it is for a company of your friends or kids in a typical apartment or house room or on the other side of the restaurant table, it is 12/2 (or 17/1.8 at the longest, although even if FoV would be enough for you at 2-3 m, DoF might not fit a whole company - unless you perfectly line them up - at f/1.8). If it is sports in a gymnasium, it is 75/1.8 (or maybe 35-100/2.8 for versatility).
