Zoom AF Fine Tune

My answer is: maybe. I had my 24-70 serviced (FF at long end only) - and when it returned it was spot-on @ 70 mm (fine tune 0) and showing BF at anything below 70mm. Lens became much softer at long distances, the shorter the focal the worse it gets (to make it clear - all tested with CDAF).

Not sure how good your Nikon Service - maybe it was only my copy that came out so poor.
