You gave a misleading impression that Apple was somehow important to the development of digital photography. It was not. It was ( and is ) a very minor bit player in photography.

So not Apple bashing, more like you bashing. Next time try getting you facts straight.

They were instrumental in putting out early consumer cameras just like Sony Mavica and Canon Ion but unlike those magnetic video cameras that took stills they worked with Kodak to make a digital still camera that accepted media cards–I think they were called Smartmedia cards and were thin..

Here I found some info:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_QuickTake

So yes Apple was an early player

These Kodak/Fuiji rebadge jobs (pun Intended) were from 1994 ...hardly an EARLY player ........

That is incorrect Apple and Kodak jointly developed the Quicktake 100 the prototype was in 1992.

To say they were 're badge jobs' would suggest that Kodak had a shipping product to be re-badged.

They didn't and lets not be revisionist about this when the Quicktake 100 was released neither Kodak or Fuji had a shipping digital camera—That makes Apple an early player.

SONY mavica 1981........Kodak DCS(nikon based) 1991 ..... Apples rebadged Kodak 1993 .....
