D800 AF now IMPROVED!

I'm interested in understanding why the new method works better. I always prefer to use half press for focusing and generally find I get better results with AFS. I just don't understand why your new way works better. BTW based on the photo and EXIF, it seems to be very decent light, no where near what I would call low. I would certainly expect the camera to get focus in this light.
