Hi Folks.

Would like to buy a low cost lighting kit for taking studio type portraits of my family at home.

Could someone point me in the direction as to what I should buy?

You should start with one reflector, ideally a homemade one. Then add a second reflector, also homemade, after you have thoroughly tested and squeezed that first reflector for all its worth.

Then, after many months of using the reflectors, you should think about getting one speedlight. Use that speedlight, and your two reflectors, for the next few months or years until you have fully explored and mastered the thousands of different setups you can achieve with those.

Then a second speedlight... etc...

Good luck!

Thanks for that. Any images or links to get me started?
