Lens compatibility question

Hello everyone, a friend has a three older AF lenses from a 35mm Minolta Maxxum film SLR. Would these Minolta lenses be compatible with a Sony SLT-A37 camera? Would AF work? Would camera be able to set aperture and so forth? Thanks!
