I MUST be doing something wrong

Many years ago at a seminar on selling, I remember the speaker talking about consumer response to good products and bad products. Or about good service and poor service.

If a product had a problem or the service was bad, studies had shown that the business involved, on average received 10 responses, often about just one problem (not ten problems).

If the service was good or a product worked well, there was one response. This speaker was making the point that you better get it right or your business could fail very quickly. Sorry I don't have any details of any studies.

So there is a very big noise made, often about a small problem. The worse the problem, the bigger the noise, often justified if the response is not good.

Success is too often greeted by silence.

So to try for some balance; my list is:

D100 ... no problems

D200 ... no problems

D40x ... no problems

D800 ... no problems

But to be honest I did have a 18-70mm lens jam up and stop focusing. After repair ($130) everything works ok. This is the first time I have mentioned it publicly. That is one of ten Nikon lenses I still own.
