Sitting at the heart of every uber modern Mac is a decades old industrial strength OS that was developed in the 1950's. This never fails to amuse me as I tap away on my Macbook Pro.

Unix (the predecessor of Linux) was first released in 1969, with most of its development occurring in the 1970s. After BSD 4 included virtual memory in 1980, and 4.2 added Fast File System in 1983, the OS was commercially viable.

So not quite 1950s, but it was a long time ago.

Is there an Aperture vs Lightroom comparison somewhere? I am curious. After using Corel Aftershot, it does seem that Lightroom copied all its ideas from Bibble, the predecessor of Aftershot.
