Apple never copied Linux

They bought the operating system from Steve Jobs and Next for $400m, when Jobs returned to take over Apple. Next OS was based on Berkeley UNIX (as I recall) and when Jobs started that project after beimg kicked out of Apple by John Scully Linus Torvalds the father of Linux was still wearing nappies.
Sitting at the heart of every uber modern Mac is a decades old industrial strength OS that was developed in the 1950's. This never fails to amuse me as I tap away on my Macbook Pro.
I just know from my personal experience, I have used apple from '98 exclusively, and with the exception of two drives that failed, and that can happen with anything, I have had no problems.
I'd like to hear more on from your viewpoint.
