Why is the EM5 so much more popular than the GH3?

I do already have an E-M5, which I ordered as soon as it was clear that it had a better sensor than any MFT camera ever had. I won't consider a GH3 : I do already find that the small DSLR shape of the G1/2 was nothing special, but the GH3 being even bigger has zero appeal for me. Plus I don't care for video at all. The Panasonic cameras lack soul, compared to the Olympus cameras. The E-M5 was able to condense all the progress made in the MFT format : E-VF, flip up and touch LCD, fast AF and reactive operations, much improved IQ and extraordinary IBIS.

I'm getting many Panasonic lenses, because they are very good, but I find them quite uggly too.

I think that still shooters don't care for the video abilities of the GH3, but I'm sure that videographers are very interested by the GH3. Panasonic has also advertised the GH3 emphasizing its video capabilities, so no surprise that the still shooters are less interested. When you add up the price, the larger body and the ordinary small DSLR shape, the result is a less appealing camera for most mft still shooters. Last but not least, the camera isn't yet largely available, so there are not so many of them in stock and less people are talking about it. We will probably see more talks about it when it will be more widely distributed.
