I MUST be doing something wrong

Thanks Steve for a little perspective. My experience is similar, including D70, D700, D7000, and now D800 and D600. However, I don't get upset with the number and intensity of moist of the complaints. It's typical that those who are dissatisfied with any product or service are more vocal than those who are happy.

If you add up the number of these pieces of equipment that have been sold and compare them against the number of complaints, it's obvious the vast majority are fine. On the other hand, I fully understand and sympathize with those who may have a legitimate factory-sourced problem -- there are not many things more frustrating than receiving a long-awaited and lusted-after, new piece of equipment and finding something wrong with it. In addition, I have found some of the replies to apparently experienced photographers who say they have legitimate problems to be sometimes snarky and dismissive. I, for one, being a long-time and dedicated Nikon customer, have nothing against people holding Nikon accountable for delivering nothing but the highest customer service (something that has clearly been slipping lately) manufacturing quality control.

So in sum, my experience has been outstanding, but I sympathize with those experience whose hasn't been the same.
