D300s and 400X cards

I've been using Lexar 200X  cf and Lexar 133X sdhc cards in my D300s bodies.  I would like to use faster cards such as Lexar 400X cards to move files out of the camera buffer faster.  Nikon tells me this may damage my batteries.  Is anyone using faster cards than those approved by Nikon?  Thanks
