Sekonic L-398 vs. L-308S

For strobe photography on a budget, is the L-398 a better bargain than the L-308S? It looks like a used L-398 can be had for $60 while the L-308S looks to be at least $100 more. What are the pros/cons of each? I know the L-398 never needs batteries, so that's one plus.
