I too am a frequent buyer from B&H, but not enough that they would notice. I am sure that if your complaint had substance they would very quickly rectify the matter given the opportunity.

The fact that I am the fifth person to respond to your post saying give B&H the chance to make this right indicates the fine reputation this company enjoys in the photographic community.

They are not perfect but, from what I have witnessed, are open and honest in their dealings, and will go to great lengths to rectify their mistakes.

Having posted your one sided rant, it would be the honourable thing to post the reply from B&H customer service on this matter.

Not necessarily a B&H fanboy, but fair cuts both ways.

I am a customer, and when I complain to a larger business like B&H, I hope to remain anonymous, for obvious reasons.

I have made 3 major purchases (along with other small purchases) from B&H since 2010. They are Canon Powershot G11 camera ( 2010, Order #1014750596) , Sony MDR-SA3000 Hi-Fi Stereo Headphones ( 2011, Order #1015922355), and Canon 60D DSLR with 18-135mm Kit Lens, Canon EF 70-300mm USM IS Lens ( 2013, Order#1024060709), and a Canon 70-200mm F/4 L lens ( Haven’t received it, still in transport)

The first item I received, Canon G11, was missing internal packaging for the camera body. When I opened the box, the in the compartment was naked, without any wrappings or protection. I did kept the camera and I thought it was the way it was, until I watched unboxing videos from Youtube which all the G11 bodies were carefully packaged from the factory.

The second item, Sony Headphone ($168), came with a opened box, broken/pealed seal, and clearly visible signs of use (scratch, wears on the ear muffs). I returned it.

The third order, Order#1024060709, both the camera body, and the separately sold lens ( 70-300mm, a separate item in a separate package) shown unreasonable amount of dusts when I received them. After I opened the camera lens mount I noticed there were unreasonable amount of dusts/debris stuck on the mirror, one of which was nearly 1mm in diameter. I have to carefully clean them before I can attach the lens. The product package of the camera was a little dirty too, with curled edges and a mildly torn corner. The product package of the 70-300mm lens showed some cosmetic scratches.

IF people can make the "mistake" of sell used items as new at the cost of consumers, why didn't I ever received anything brand new when I purchased from the used department? From what I have read and researched, it does not seem to be an isolated problem.

Yes, I have trusted B&H for years in the past. But when I spoke with them on the phone this time about the issues, their customer service was not very polite, unwilling and reluctantly said sorry. I have to wait another 2 weeks for my item to be exchanged. After all, I have to wait 3 weeks (21 days) for my order.

They DECLINED my request to offer 2ndday shipping for the return and exchange, even though I told them My photography CLASS have already started, and I have a very special event in the early Feb, so I urgently need the camera. I asked them in email that if they can offer a 10% discount for this order as a result of these issues, the customer agent responded, but did not mention anything about my request for the 10% discount.

HONESTLY, IMHO, WHEN COMPARE TO THE SERVICE AND SPEED OF DELIVERY FROM AMAZON AND COSTCO, I THINK THIS IS NOT UP TO THE PRO STANDARD.

Please order from someone else.
