Aperture Fading into irrelevance Locked

It certainly is hyperbole to say they practically invented it, but they did have an impact... the first commercial digital cameras, all RAW processors have a "lightroom" look to them today, but we need to remember that a lot of that came from Aperture. You scoff at the iphone/ipod, but the iPhone is one of the most popular cameras out there. Most popular camera on Flickr? iPhone 4s. Second most popular? iPhone 4. The immediate reaction might be "well flickr is low brow" the number 3 and 4 cameras are the 5D Mk II and the 7D. It's been argued that digital killed film, but I'll take it a step further and say the iPhone killed the disposable camera. Before the iPhone the cameras in most cell phones were a total joke. Apple has had quite an impact on the photo industry, maybe not genesis, but significant none the less.
