While there are certainly plenty of fly-by-night and bait-and-switch retailers on the web to be leary of, B&H is absolutely NOT one of them. I have been buying from them since 1978 (from ads in the back of Modern Photography magazine) and they are a model of how customer service should be.
From knoweledgable sales people to customer service they are second to none. Their online chat help is great also. Fast and friendly.
There are two retailers that I shop where service has never ever been an issue. One is B&H. The other is LL Bean.
