You are looking up at the cabin from an angle of about 30 degrees. If it is several miles away it must be at least 2 miles tall!
I tried the Canon 55-250 on my V1 but results were not very good even when I got the exposure right and focus spot on.
Have ordered a 30-110 for $125 from e-bay so with my $275 10-30 kit price makes a twin lens kit for $400. Can't go wrong at that price. Nikon has a good strategy in giving away the V1 since it means that people will invest in the system and maybe stay invested.

Nikon 1 series - It's not the size of your sensor, it's what you do with it that counts
