Sony A57 SLT vs Sony CX760v/PJ760v camcorder for video?

Hi everyone,

I'm in need of a little help with making a purchase decision.

In the near future, I will be in the process of creating a set of instructional videos (for using certain pieces of equipment at my workplace).  Because it is work-related, I want the final product to be as professional as possible.  It will most likely be distributed to several centres throughout my city.  However, the budget provided is unfortunately quite limited.

The videos themselves will encompass one main talent/speaker, who will be hooked up to an external recording device (Zoom H1 with lavalier microphone).  The audio will be synced later in post production. This person will be demonstrating the use of several pieces of equipment, which are vital to my workplace.  Video panning will be very limited/not required, as most of it will be in a confined space.  Individual clip lengths/takes will not go beyond 10-15 minutes.

Lighting in this particular area is very good, so I am not too worried about low-light performance.  However, it will be indoors under mixed lighting.

I am a big fan of the shallow depth of field look that larger sensor cameras provide.  This is why I have placed the A57 in my consideration list.  That being said, I'm also an avid stills shooter, and would therefore have other uses for the camera (other than video).  I am aware that this camera has good autofocus during video, which is a bonus.  The lens focusing noises shouldn't be evident since I'm using an external sound recording device.

I have also considered the GH2, but I think the A57 would be a better stills camera, for me at least.

I'd like to have a reasonable amount of manual control over exposure and shutter speed, but this isn't absolutely necessary (I guess?).

I've read many reviews of praise for the Sony CX760v/PJ760v, and the fact that it won best consumer (and prosumer) camcorder of the year - at camcorderinfo.com - is encouraging.  I'm also really digging its Balanced Optical Stabilisation abilities.  My only concern is that I will have minimal control over depth of field, which is something I really like.  However, it is once again not necessary.

Is anyone able to enlighten me on the preferred choice for my purposes?  Are there other alternatives in a similar price range that I haven't thought about?  Any help is greatly appreciated   Thanks a lot!

Please note that I've also posted this over at the Sony SLT forum as well, to gain further feedback about the A57 in particular.
