Buying my first speedlites - Olong SP660ii any good to start with?

I have had my 7d now for about a year and am looking at getting into portraiture and strobist work and was wondering if anyone can give me some advice on a potential set-up.  I've noticed that the Oloong SP660ii (the name always makes me think of War of the Worlds the musical) has support for the Canon wireless system.  As I won't be using the flash on camera would I be able to get away with using 2 of these in TTL mode for my shots or would I need something on camera to trigger them properly? I'm just trying to save a few pennies and avoid the extra $130 for 3 Yongnuo triggers.
