Since Digital began what have been the standout cameras?

I ask this because I noticed the other day a shop selling a used Nikon D200 for
$295AUD. This is a camera that I still use and one that I paid over $2000 for in 2007.

I have since upgraded with a D300s ( the oldest still current camera in the world?) and last week I nearly succumed to shelling out $1500 for a Fuji XE1.

Do I really need this I asked myself?

You know what I purchased in the end instead? A Nikon D100 for $121 just out of curiosity to see what sort of images I can get out of it with decent glass.

This got me thinking what other bargains are to be had out there? What brilliant cameras were being used and lusted after just a few years ago but have now been left by the roadside as we chase after the next big thing?

Cheers
