Canon G15 White balance setting for front dial

Try hitting Menu while in the Function WB menu. Then the front dial controls one direction (Amber - Blue) and the rear dial the other (Green - Magenta).

Pretty cool feature if you are into custom WB. I've not used it yet, but usually you see such a capability only on DSLRs
