Need some help with memory modes on the RX1.

I normally shoot in A mode flexible spot.  I would like to set one of the 3 memory banks on the mode dial to A mode with center focus.  What I find is it wont let me change the aperture and seems to be stuck at F4 1/80. If I set it to center focus and switch to another mode and back using the mode dial it defaults back to flexible spot. Usually I never read manuals and am good at figuring these things out but I don't know if the glass of wine is getting to me or I'm just stupid today lol.
