Can someone suggest me a good monitor for editing photographs on a budget (obviously).

IPS tft LCD panel, or S-PLS are preferred over the TN and MVA panels.

sRGB standard gamut

Avoid the Dell U2312HM as it is too bright even at 0% Brightness, for editing in a dark room (which you shouldn't be doing anyway).

Dell U2212HM can be had for $169 on sale.

LG IPS231P has been on sale for about $170 at times.

LED back lit can be fine.  There has been a new generation of LED back lights coming into the market in the last month or two and they offer either 99% coverage of the sRGB color space or in wide gamut, about 99% of sRGB and 99% of the AdobeRGB space.

The typical LED back lights up to this point only covered about 95% of the sRGB color space and had a notable peak in the blue spectrum which has to be compensated for.
