If I had that mental makeup, I would not want access to a gun because a gun makes it easy to do something you will regret for the rest of your life.

Unfortunately for the Las Vegas officer his regret was enough to make the rest of his life very short.

Right, the guy that loaded the gun and pulled the trigger had nothing to do with it.
It would have been much better if he had beat their brains in with a tire iron then jumped off his roof head first.
