We had a dad kill his family and burn the house, about fifty miles from here, a few years ago. He did not use a gun. Many times it is a knife. It is mental health. It has been happening for years. Why does no one have an answer?

Perhaps because people like you and the NRA are asking the wrong questions. Why is it that Americans are 400% or more likely to be homicidal maniacs than the rest of the world? is one question but a better question might be why is it that in countries with very strict gun laws regarding ownership, murder rates in general are very low compared to the USA?

I do not think the numbers support your accusations. England has 2 - 3 times the rate of violent crime. When it comes to gun violence in the US, almost all is gang related - Inner city, males, 15 - mid 20's. When we get out of town, people are not shooting themselves as you claim. The gun homicide rate drops to at least as low as that of England. Yet, there are guns everywhere.

I don't really think the numbers  back that up, especially in light of the OP, things like school shootings, parking of shootings where congress women get a bullet in the head, etc. The city I live in has been told by one of our national news magazines as having the worst neighborhood in Canada. We have a very high percentage of native youth who don't really have much of a hjop of succeeding at anything, kids who are victims of multi generational poor parentung and multi generational welfare.

We have gang wars here between native gangs, white gangs and Asian gangs.

But for murders, not so many, maybe a dozen per year on average (and we have the highest murder rate in Canada).

Explain this. Do not just try to talk smart

I would ask that when you are comparing numbers between countries, that you ensure that everything is being taken into account.

For example, the British tend to report any complaint as part of their statistics. Does the USA do that, or does it just count convictions?

You have to be prepared, sometimes, to do some pretty in depth analysis to get to the real numbers because every country has a different reporting scale.
