Could this be done from the E-PL5 with a radio trigger that has a hot shoe on top. I thought I'd seen something like that.

I think this is what you are looking for. You get TTL when a M 4/3 flash is mounted on the transmitter (which is on the hot shoe) but only manual when it's on the receiver (off-camera). I guess that you can use two flashes simultaneously.
