As a result losing 2 things

1) Swivel screen that rotates towards front

I have changed from G3 to E-M5. I have adjusted to most of the things that annoyed me about E-M5, but the screen issue remains a big problem with no workaround. For me the most serious issue is that I can't turn the screen for comfortable viewing when I shoot from a low angle in portrait orientation.

2) Built In Flash

The lack of flash is what concerns me more; I know it comes with a snap-on attachment; those of you who have one do you just carry it around in the pocket or leave it attached?

There is a small beautiful velvet pouch for the flash in the box with E-M5. It attaches to the camera strap. So you can have your flash carried wherever you take your camera, and it has its own place. It has a velcro closure, so it's easy to access.

It's a little more challenging if you don't use a strap, but it's not hard to find a pocket in your camera bag.

You also don't need the plugs, except to keep your camera weatherproof. If you are not shooting in inclement weather, just take them off and keep them in a ziploc bag with the rest of your camera accoutrements.

I wonder why Oly didn't consider building it into the camera like most SLRs do nowadays, the Rebel series for example.

There are other high end cameras that do not include flash: Canon 5D, 6D, Sony α99. Typically, people get these cameras to avoid having to use the built-in flash, so for the majority of users in this type of market it is not a deal breaking feature. Just trust it and let the ISO go up, isn't that what the E-M5 is about - great low light performance? For fill, I find the built-in flash largely inadequate.
