RAW converter's computational power requirements: 4core or 8core?

I copy them to a 7k rpm 3.5 sata hdd first.

But converting to jpgs for publishing in websites?

Gosh.. takes ages...

and then there is this phatch program trying to resize them and add a watemark and round the corners which doesnt take too long but it adds up to the procedure.
